Worship - Disciples' congregations celebrate the Lord's Supper every Sunday. The table is open. That means that all Christians are invited to respond to Christ's invitation to draw closer to Him around the communion table. For Disciples, the open table is a powerful symbol of our deep commitment to Christian unity. The open table honors diversity even as it celebrates unity in Christ.

Adult Sunday School - Our Adult Bible Studies are a casual, laid back atmosphere, that offers the perfect opportunity to build relationships, grow in your faith, and have a great time Sunday mornings. The Adult classes start at 9:15 am in the Parlor or Library. And don't worry; Lynn always has the pot of coffee going.

Prayer Shawl Ministry - Each shawl is made beginning with a prayer and dedicated at worship to go out to a recipient. This ministry shares the shawls that are made with people who are experiencing a serious illness, disease, still birth, in Hospice care or any other reason we feel would benefit from a shawl. This ministry is for anyone who knits, crochets or quilts OR for anyone who is interested in learning! Contact Carol Davis (573) 221-4812 or the church office if you know of someone who needs a shawl OR would like to join this "tight knit" group.

Christian Women's Fellowship - CWF is the oldest continuing program of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). The purpose of the CWF is to provide opportunities for spiritual growth, enrichment, education, and creative ministries to enable women to develop a sense of personal responsibility for the whole mission of the Church of Jesus Christ. This great group of gals meets the first Wednesday of each month and is for women of all ages. If you'd like more information on CWF at First Christian, call the church office.

Flower Ministry - The flower arrangements donated through the current flower ministry are a gift from individuals to grace our altars at both services. Flowers can be provided in honor or in memory of someone special to you. You can contact the church office if you would like to participate in this ministry.

Pinkie Pals - Pinkie Pals meet once a month for regular meetings and get together once a month for girls night out. If you have been recently diagnosed, just finished treatment, or celebrating 5, 10 or even 20 years of being cancer free, this group would love to have you. Pinkie Pals was named for the Power of pink! The Pinkie swear they make to one another, the support they give to each other in confidence, and the pals they become in the process.
We meet the first Tuesday of each month in the parlor from 6:30 pm 8:00 pm. All topics discussed in the group are confidential. Monies are available for those who need help with cost associated with treatment and will be available on a monthly basis. You do not have to attend meetings for availability of funds.
If you are interested in the Pinkie Pals please call Sherry Ingram at 573-221-9253.

Sunday School - Sunday School is offered for children age 3 through 12th grade. Classes begin at 9:15 a.m. each Sunday morning. Our comprehensive Sunday School classes include many special activities, including a pancake party, "trunk or treating", a Bible character costume show, a nativity scene field trip and many more fun learning experiences for each child. Children's Worship - Children's Worship is offered during the 10:30 a.m. worship service for children four years old through 3rd grade. Our focus is to instill a sense of "Worship and Wonder" in our children as they go through a sacred worship experience designed just for them. The activities are designed for children to experience each aspect of a worship service to help prepare them to worship with their family. Children will sing songs, learn litanies, listen to a Bible story, and retell that story through art. They also have an opportunity to learn giving through an offering and experience communion through a "feast" (usually comprised of delicious cookies and juice Children are dismissed midway through the traditional service, after the Children's Moment. Children's worship is offered Sept. - May, and is one of the best ways for a child to learn what worship is all about in a safe and fun way. If you would like help with this ministry or would like any other information about Children's Worship, please contact Youth Director Mariah Weyand at 217-440-4451.

Fellowship Committee - The Fellowship Committee provides, promotes and encourages a mission of outreach among the members of the congregation through dinners, special programs, etc. which create a Christian family atmosphere.

Recreation Committee - The Recreation Committee seeks to bring people together by having fun activities for families, new and continuing members, and for the young in age and young at heart. We encourage church growth through activities that bond people together in a relaxed atmosphere and help them to be comfortable together in other church events and worship.

Caring and Sharing Committee - The mission of the Caring and Sharing Committee is to Encourage the stewardship of personal and financial resources; Promote the special offerings of the wider church for mission from our doorsteps to the ends of the earth; Give of our church's resources beyond our congregation through the outreach tithe of the Living Memorial Fund; Administer and Foster the use of and continuing expansion of the First Christian Church Scholarship Fund; and Model Christian commitment of caring and sharing for our neighbors in our church family, in our community, in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), through our Northeast Area and Mid-America Region, and the Church of Jesus Christ in all the world.

Christian Education Committee - Christian Ed. seeks to encourage all to be enrolled in different avenues of Christian education by providing various and creative educational opportunities that will enhance their spiritual lives and give a Christian foundation to their everyday experiences; to provide an atmosphere of trust in order for all to explore and to be enriched in an in-depth study of the Bible and Christian lifestyles; and to realize that Christian education is to help prepare us for what needs lie beyond the church's doorstep-that it is not only to enhance our lives alone, but to learn to 'give life away' in God's needful world.

Evangelism Committee - The committee for evangelism and church growth provides ministries which proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to offer opportunities for persons to respond to Christ's call to discipleship. Member Nurture Committee - This committee ministers to those persons within the congregation with specific needs due to bereavement, illness, confinement, infirmity and age. It is our goal to nurture and comfort our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Worship Committee - The worship committee seeks to aid in the creation of a fulfilling worship experience; provide leadership in maintaining the organization of the worship service; further develop worship through music; and to create a line of communication among the congregation, the staff, and the church board in developing a rewarding and enjoyable experience of worship for the entire community.

R.A.M.P. Committee - The Repair and Maintain Property Committee is devoted to raising special funds to help renovate and sustain the three beautiful buildings that make up First Christian Church. The group's biggest fundraiser of the year is the popular "Nut Hut," featured during Hannibal's Folklife Festival. Donations can also be made in honor, in memorial or as a gift for your loved one. To join this "nutty" group or to make a donation contact the church office.
